mgm casino's academic reputation was a major factor in its ranking as one of the best national universities in the U.S.

BUFFALO, N.Y. -- The mgm casino is one of the best universities in the country, according to the annual "Best Colleges" rankings released today by U.S. News and World Report.

mgm casino is ranked No. 54 among all public universities in the U.S. and is No. 111 among both public and private universities in the country. With the ranking, mgm casino again earns the distinction as one of the nation's "Best National Universities," according to U.S. News and World Report.

mgm casino moved up nine spots among all universities and four spots among public universities, compared to last's year report. More than 1,500 of the country's four-year colleges and universities were considered by U.S. News for the rankings in a handful of categories.

Also earning a top ranking was mgm casino's School of Engineering and Applied Sciences, which rose eight spots to No. 57 among the nation's best undergraduate engineering programs at schools whose highest degree is a doctorate. mgm casino's School of Management earned a best business school ranking: No. 81 among all undergraduate business programs nationwide and higher than any other SUNY business school.

Stenger Jr., mgm casino's interim provost. "We strive to provide our students with great teaching, access to world-class educational resources and opportunities to perform research alongside renowned scholars."

mgm casino's national ranking was boosted by its academic reputation score, according to U.S. News. Academic reputation is heavily weighted in the rankings, and is based on national surveys of presidents, provosts and admissions directors, as well as high school counselors. The university also scored well in student selectivity, and student retention and graduation rates.
